The Bosch VIPX2 ultra compact video encoder converts the analog signal coming from two NTSC or PAL video devices into a digital stream for transmission over a network. Video is encoded in DVD quality MPEG-4 at 30 IPS per channel and can be viewed on a PC using a standard Internet Explorer browser or by installing Bosch's exclusive VIDOS viewing software offering comprehensive video management. Encoded video can be recorded to a USB device connected directly to this unit or to a networked PC utilizing iSCSI devices. Video can also be recorded to any DVR on the network.

The VIPX2 uses Dual Streaming to generate two independent IP video streams per channel. This allows a user to choose different quality levels for viewing and recording depending on the available hard drive and network bandwidth resources. The encoder also features alarm inputs and can be configured to send Email notices along with JPEG images to a designated PC at an alarm event. By routing the IP video to a high performance VIP XD video decoder or a VIDOS Monitor Wall, encoded video can be viewed with ultimate clarity on an analog CCTV monitor or large screen VGA monitor.

Dual Channel
Accepts 2 analog NTSC or PAL security cameras for viewing and recording over a network
High Quality Encoding
Video is encoded in DVD like MPEG-4 quality at up to 30 IPS per channel
Records to Local or Networked Devices
Encoded video can be recorded to a USB hard drive connected directly to this unit or to an iSCSI hard drive over the network. Connecting to an iSCSI RAID5 array not only offers backup protection of crucial data but also allows the VIPX2 to act as a conventional DVR as well as a live video streaming device.
Dual Streaming
The encoded video signal is split into two video streams allowing a user to choose different viewing and recording quality levels to suit available hard drive and network bandwidth resources.
Standard Internet Browser Viewing
Video can be viewed on a standard Internet Explorer browser or by installing Bosch's exclusive VIDOS program (included) offering comprehensive video management.
PTZ Control of Dome Cameras
A local RS-232 port allows full pan, tilt and zoom control of certain PTZ dome cameras from any PC on the network.
Alarm Inputs and Video Loss Detection
Alarm events can be triggered by optional alarm sensors connected directly to this unit or by the unit's built-in sensor. A built-in alarm detector is capable of sensing unusual conditions like a video loss, masking, hooding, defocusing or camera diversion. At the event of an alarm, this unit can be configured to send an E-mail notification along with pertinent JPEG images to a designated address on the network.
Relay Inputs
A number of relay inputs are available to activate devices such as locking or unlocking a door following an alarm event.
Optional Viewing on Analog Devices
By routing the IP video to a high performance VIP XD video decoder or a VIDOS Monitor Wall, video can be viewed with ultimate clarity on an analog CCTV or large, flat-screen VGA monitor or TV.
